Using yeast in pancakes

Hello ! Today is 7th of December 2021. Today is my 1st marriage anniversary, my grandmas funeral and the day that changes my academical life. I’ve been doing my German homework this morning and guess what 😋… I’ve learned that German people are crazy about donuts 🍩 but they call it in some regions as “ Berliner” or “Krapfen” and even “ Pfannkuchen”.

So I’ve thought why not add some yeast into the pancake dough. And so I did. And it was so “ yummy yummy in the tummy” ! You can add different toppings, fillings or just have some sugar on top.

I choose though to have some chocolate sprinkles and caramel sauce and some jam on the side.

I received so much hate from dumb, stubborn and ignorant people in the last week, I needed this sweet treat. Now I can finally breath. This morning I’ve received the best news ever. Thesis completing my Bachelors in Tourism sciences got accepted by the examinating teacher. With that said although life is heavy like digesting this pancake 😅 .I will keep working hard and evolving.

I hope to share with you an awesome receipe for sallad next, so stay tunned until then. See you!

Creativity in cooking

I always loved to eat. I started experimenting in the kitchen quite young. I think I was around 4 years old when I made a tea and some sandwiches for my mom. Then around the time I was between 5 or 6 years some devilish idea came into my head. ” Let’s bake banana cake” 😂😂😂… and so I chopped 1kg of bananas and mixed all the powders I saw my mom combining whenever she was baking and put it in the oven in plastic containers. So yeah there I learned that plastic can melt 😅.

But the real cooking started somehow in my teens. When I turned 18 I really started involving myself in the art of cooking, firstly the Polish cuisine but after I met my exhusband I started being skilled in Asian cuisine and today I can make anything from European to Asian and South American dishes from scratch. My taste buds simply gained experience by me eating and remembering how it felt to eat those.

There is a saying that we eat first visually and then the real food. So here I want to focus on the visual part before the tasting part.

Plating your food is a creative way of expressing yourself. It makes cooking so much fun. Maybe its something we can experience for most part in A la carte restaurants but why not do it at home when you want to add the extra feel to your dish and maybe end up putting smiles on your family members faces like I do for my family. Like you can see on the pictures above I love having fresh herbs at home. Something green is always nice to have sprinkled over your food. It adds the freshness to the dish. Then raw vegetables are great. You can use them for carvings of flowers or other decorative features. It takes so skills with knife to cut out things nicely but it will ensure a more beautiful look of the dish.

I personally love to bake and make desserts, make cold dishes and sallads but my kids would gain weight if I daily baked for them and there are not so many sallad eaters in my family so I only do it occasionally. When it comes to my cooking since I lived with an Asian for a long time we have plenty of onions, garlic, ginger and tomatoes at home and it’s always the base for the dishes I make except when I am cooking Thai dishes then I would use fish sauce, oyster sauce and some peanuts at times.

And what do you like about your cooking ? Which dishes do you enjoy ? Are you decorating them like I do? For those that never cooked, why did you not do it?
