A day without internet is a day filled with creativity

Hello my dear readers!

It’s past 1 AM , 2nd day of August and I’ve just found time to write this post. The 1st day of August started with a shortage in internet 😅… well shit happens when you don’t pay your bills on time but don’t worry 😉. Agni is keeping cool until all solutions has been tried. Long way to go…still I made use of time and instead of scratching my head and walk in circles I’ve decided to use this time to create together with my small one’s 🧸.

We had some empty bottles and I had pretty much hobby paint left in two colours as well as some patterns that I purchased when renovating the apartment so the idea came pretty quick. Why not paint the bottles and turn them into a piece of art?

My boys loved the idea and worked very focused on their own bottles.

My idea was to turn the bottle into a exhibition piece. Diamond pattern felt like a good idea. I had some flowers that Aaron collected for me on the way home from the park which I’ve decided to put to use.

Kids were pretty quick with their design and so we have covered pine cones with glue and some glitter in different colours. Even some of my eyeshadows has been out to use. Luckily it was just some cheap make up and I did not feel the loss.

The glue was very slimy and the kids enjoyed pulling out their pine cones.

While our piece of art was taking a rest, we enjoyed some lunch together. Today has been the first time since a long time since both of my kids actually made it possible and ate some veggies.

After the lunch the kids went to rest while watching cartoons while I worked on some other creative projects. After that we resumed our bottle project for few minutes. But it did not take long until it was dinner time and I’ve asked the kids if they would like to cook the dinner with me. And so I got myself four small hands to peel garlic and onion 😂.

We enjoyed dinner. As Aaron is very picky about tomatoes and onion in food, today he ate all which made me very happy.

Our bottle project turned to amazing exhibition pieces which can be displayed as a part of decoration or be a decoration itself 🥰. Very jolly moment of my day when I put the pine cones as a part of the exhibit. The colours and patterns are amazing. I still cannot believe that you don’t need much but with the right mindset everything you do turns to be so beautiful and unique. Most importantly, I spent the whole day just with my gems. It feels refreshing ❣️

Thank you for reading !

Art and graphic design ? You will need a portfolio…

Hello my friends around the world!

Today I’ve applied plenty of jobs for the position of an art teacher. Not sure how things will go but I’ve made an attempt and that is more than enough. If you ever feel like being an art teacher or maybe a designer having an portfolio is a great start I must say.

What is a portfolio ?

It’s a file, page or book where you exhibit your creativity.

What does a porfolio contain ?

You can have all from pictures, sketches, illustrations to descriptions of your work. What is most important if you are planning to work as a designer for example, is the mood board or sketches. It is very important to exhibit the process rather than the final product. That is actually how the professional designers work. Now everything depends on what kind of design or art you want to exhibit. Photographs would have plenty of photographies in their portfolio, both edited and natural. It would probably show technics used to capture the pictures. On the other hand illustrations for animations focus on scale, perspective, movement. Even if you create one character, it needs to be shown from different angles so that the animation can work when rendered into a digital object. Designing clothes, shoes or accessories would require your portfolio to be a blend of digital and drawn by hand as it is about fabrics and patterns which you would need to provide or at least have an idea of how you can make or where to find, so that your design has a plan from start to an end.

My portfolio is filled with drawings, sculptures, graphic design, scrapbooking, video editing and different types of textile work. I still feel like I should have drawn two dimensional and three dimensional illustrations but going to give my current portfolio a chance before creating something new. The description is in Swedish but you are free to look at my work. Sometimes a picture is all you need.

Good luck with your portfolio !

Aaron & Austin visiting a library

Hello! How are you doing ? Hope you are all fine despite the rain in some places around the world. So was the case even in Sweden since few days. It may start sunny but end up with pouring rain. But weather aside. The kids pre-school close for 4 weeks thus the summer holiday has started. Today I felt a little sick so they’ve stayed home as well but as they were super naughty I’ve decided to take them outside.

We went to the library in Nynäshamn. I had some errands to make and well… they’ve found ways to make their days at the library pleasant. After all they’ve found something they are really crazy about since two years – dinosaurs. You will ask me : “Dinosaurs at the library?

Yes, indeed. It’s all due to the fact that Swedes work towards making kids read early in life. And to do that you need to make the environment child-friendly.

While they played with the dinosaurs and animal toys I’ve printed some documents. After I was done I have promised the kids to take them to the art room underground. Even there we could find a dinosaur theme.

While Austin was amazed by the dinosaur sculpturs. Aaron has found a small room where he could do some Dino crafts.

Soon after Austin joined in. The first thing he wanted to do was to paint. Both of them settled very easily into their play. They laughed and talked to people in English.

We went pretty late to the library and as it’s summertime, the opening hours are not long thus we went home after finishing some projects and some other we took with us to finish at home.

That was a pretty adventurous afternoon 😋. And all I can wish you is an awesome weekend!

Stay tunned for more joyous content ! ❤️🌺
